GAP MEETING 4/14/2011
Greetings my fellow Guam airsoft players!
First and foremost, Thank you for attending the meeting that was held last night.
We feel that this was a great way to start and introduce our intentions for the airsoft
Enthusiast here on Guam. But for those of the members/players that wasn’t able to attend,
This report will briefly inform you what was talked about during the meeting.
Guam Airsoft players also known as G.A.P. is a non-profit organization that will benefit
Our airsoft players on Guam. GAP will be working closely together with local organizations, business companies and other airsoft community so our sport can
Excel, evolve, grow and most importantly enjoy and have fun together as a whole community. G.A.P. has a saying, “honesty, Respect and Unity”. Since our game is based
On self respect we need to be honest with the way we play. And we can only grow and move forward if we work in Unity.
This meeting was held at the Micronesia Mall parking lot from 6pm – 8pm.
The resurrection and construction of the site AKA Coral Pit was the main subject that was talked about.
The Dededo Mayor has approved Mr. Arnold Delo Santos to represent and lead the
Guam airsoft players. He has appointed Clifford Velayo and Buddy Haber to be his
Vice Presidents for team support. Treasurer of the community is Rhe Cuenco.
And I(John Andres) will be the Secretary of Site. Eric “DjTeke” Bachman would be
In charge of our Forum/Advertisements.
To first start of this project we would need as much volunteers as we can get. The more the merrier, easier and faster to complete this build up.
An initial $10.00 fee to be a member of the G.A.P is required. (money will proceed to equipment and supplies for the site)
And donations during game days are open and would be greatly appreciated to help for the build up for our new site.
There are a few requirement that the Mayor has asked us to do for the use of the field.
The Field must always be cleaned and secured. Meaning the coral pit WILL be gated
And locked if not in use. Field must be cleaned and trash free at all times. Trash bags
And bins will be provided during game days.
A banner/signs must be visible to pedestrians/civilians during game days.
(Caution Airsoft games in Progress). There will also be other signs that will say
“NO DUMPING” and “NO TRESPASSING”.
Only officers will be issued permits and these permits MUST be present during game
Days. Players that are unable to present a permit from the mayor will be removed
From the field. Guam Police Department is aware of the situation therefore will be
Checking this site from time to time. This will help the field from having vandalisms
And prop theft(that the players paid for with their donations).
The build up has been confirmed as early as April 24, 2011 to begin.
We may have to skip our game this day to dedicate our hours and effort to build the site.
The coral pit has not been used for years there fore, it will require a lot of work.
The first thing that will be done is the gating of the field for security.
A permanent canopy/tent will also be constructed for our member’s family to have shade
If they decide to join and partake in our airsoft events.
Pallets will then be dropped of to the site and a clean up crew will be taking care of some areas that needs to be maintained(bush cutters, chain saw, etc. etc.)
Prior to this build up. An officer is going to print out a layout/blueprint of the terrain
Of the Coral pit. This will give us a good amount of time to brainstorm on how we can
Construct our airsoft fortress.
*this project is more likely to take a few weeks if not a month or so be to completed.
Again, The more the participants and volunteers, that faster we will have a new place to play.
Once the construction is complete. Our job is to keep the area cleaned. If we fail to do so,
The Mayor can and will take away our site.
Other topics that were talked about were shirts that will be made.
The front of the shirt will have the Guam Airsoft Players, and the back side will have
Your teams logo or banner.
G.A.P is a community and will not take you out from your own team. There will still be
Teams but GAP is the whole picture and will build the community closer together.
Banners will also be made for our sites.
Generators will be purchased for vision during night games.(future planning)
Bombs, claymore and grenades will be added for future scenarios.(future planning)
Team based deathmatch will then be organized for dry run tournaments.(future planning)
Eventually we will have tournaments for the island airsoft players.(future planning)
These topics are on another meeting, after we build our new site.
Rules will then be set for these specific locations for our enjoyment and the safety
For our players and their kids and family.
So if you have a special skill, welding, carpentry, web designing, artist, even if you know someone that can do the above, please let us know. Anything that can help make our sport grow that we love will benefit us all in the long run.
Thank you for your time and your effort. We will see you next meeting and please
Bring donations!
GUAM AIRSOFT PLAYERS,
HONESTY, RESPECT, UNITY!!
